Hello MusicHeads
This is Kai giving my thoughts on Frank Ocean-Swim Good.
Swim Good is a song written by American singer-song writer Frank Ocean and features as the second single of his mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra (2011). What I love about this song is it's simplicity in both acoustic and lyrical aspects. Instead of glorifiying the life of bitches, hoes, and smoking up bongs he talks about life that is full of existential malaise and regret. This is coloured by the metaphors of 'swimming from something bigger than me'.
The acoustic of the song complement the lyrics written by Frank. The beginning of the song starts with electric organ that gives it an ethereal feeling. This is followed by a simple drum beat that doesn't distract you from the lyrics of the song. Overall this is a great song!

Coldplay - Magic
Today, were going to be reviewing Coldplays latest single titled Magic. The song is produced by Paul Epworth, who is known for his work with Florance and the Machine and adele. This is the first official single of the bands sixth studio album named Ghost Stories.
This song is vintage coldplay, the song starts slow with electronic drums and bass line, then Chris Martins familiar voice kicks in and the song begins and your in the 'Coldplay' mood. The songs overall feel is simple and elegant with lyrics full of words of commitment and romantic reassurance. The song resembles famous Coldplay songs such as 'Yellow' and 'In my place', certainly one to get Coldplay fans excited about if its a lead to what the rest of the album is going to consist of.

Shot Me Down ~ David Guetta
Hiya all you MusicHeads!
Veronica here to spread my thoughts on David Guetta's Shot me down. Now when i first heard it i instantly recognized the sample from the original 1966 version by Nancy Sinatra and immediately was weary. Bang Bang was a classic and one of my all time favourites which meant that Mr Guetta was taking a big risk sampling it in one of his dance songs. It has been previously sampled by many DJ's in the past and personally none of them have even come close to pulling it off. As i continued to listen my hopes were lifted as the build up started around 0.42 which really got the heart pumping and sunk nicely into the beat which is a common characteristic of Guetta's music.
As i hit the top of the beats climax at 0.65 sec i was plummeted head first into the strangest, most out of place drop i have come across EVER. It threw me totally off balance, as what seemed to be an adaptation of Martin Garrix's Animals drop, cut into the music. It seemed like David Guetta just got two completely different songs; both amazing on their own mind you, and smashed them together without creating a link. I was very disappointed, i expected from David Guetta's previous master pieces, something amazing, but no, he butchered a classic like all the other mediocre DJ's. Another disappointing element of the song was its constant repeat of verse, strange drop, same verse again, which is common for dance songs but at least put some variation in there!?!
The only part of the song that worked as a slight link was its "Bang Wee Zap Pow!" but sadly that wasn't enough to save it. In all watching the songs Video Clip did increase its appeal and make a little sense of its juxtaposition, however, songs are suppose to take you some where from the first moment you hear it, and not growing tolerable after hearing it played 50 times on one radio station. In all there is just so much potential with Nancy's original it's just sad that such a talented DJ Couldn't harness it.
